Diabetes Simulator: From Birth to Adolescence

Abstract:
This talk will discuss the needs and benefits of the Simulator for T1D. Then the validation of the simulator based on pioneering physiological data on carbohydrate metabolism and Insulin action in more than 200 people between the ages of 18-95 that Rita and our team at Mayo conducted. Thereafter touch upon physiological inputs to personalize the various algorithms used in current closed loop systems – the prototypical precision medicine in the real world.
